Affordable homes at Meir Heath
Stonehills Close at Meir Heath in Staffordshire provided twenty affordable homes on the edge of open countryside. BREE Construction, then operating as Partner Construction, delivered the 2.8 million pound scheme for Stafford and Rural Homes, adding new affordable accommodation to a sought-after rural location near the Staffordshire countryside.
The development gave local households the chance to rent quality new homes in an area where affordable housing is in demand. Its setting on the edge of the village, close to open landscape, made it an attractive place for tenants to settle.
Homes and value
The scheme comprised twenty homes, twelve for affordable rent and eight for shared ownership, built at a construction value of around 2.8 million pounds. The homes were designed to suit a range of household sizes and to complement the residential character of Meir Heath, fitting into the existing community off Hilderstone Road.
Stafford and Rural Homes let the completed homes to local tenants, and properties from the scheme have since featured on the secondary market, reflecting a settled and established neighbourhood.
Delivery for Stafford and Rural Homes
Partner Construction managed the delivery of the Stonehills Close homes from site preparation through to completion, working to the standards required for affordable rented housing. Completed in 2016, the scheme reflected a straightforward, well-executed approach to delivering new homes in a rural Staffordshire setting.
The result was twenty comfortable affordable homes that strengthened the local housing offer and gave residents access to quality new accommodation.
Stafford and Rural Homes' delivery at Meir Heath formed part of its broader activity bringing forward affordable housing across Stafford Borough, supporting local need in a predominantly rural district where new affordable homes are valued.
