Recent Awards.

Won by our work.

Eight wins across fifteen distinct awarding bodies in the last five years, including RIBA London, RIBA National, the AJ Architecture Awards, Inside Housing and the Planning Awards. Attention to detail is what wins these , the joints, the junctions, the work you see at handover.

Our disciplineManifesto

We build to brief. To budget. To handover.

Our practiceSix Pillars
  1. Heritage

    Seventy years of British housebuilding

A continuous trading lineage from 1955, when D T Bullock & Co was incorporated. A1 ratings from both NHBC and Premier Guarantee.

  2. Architecture

    Design-led architecture

Walter Tull House won both the RIBA London and RIBA National Awards in 2024. Daventry House holds seven recognitions including AJ, Inside Housing and Planning Awards.

  3. Capability

    End-to-end, in-house

Design, manufacturing, fit-out and project management under one roof. Advanced 3D scanning, Autodesk Revit and expert space planning sit inside the practice, not at arms-length.

  4. Sectors

    Six sectors, one practice

Build-to-rent towers, multi-family communities, affordable and mixed-tenure neighbourhoods, specialist living, student-accommodation refurbishment, and land-led partnerships, delivered by the same operating team.

  5. Ownership

    A privately owned partner

A management-owned business that values long-term relationships over transactional delivery. Housing associations, registered providers, councils and institutional investors stay with us across schemes.

  6. Place

    Locally rooted

Local supply chain, local subcontractor base, and sustained community engagement on every site, from Tottenham Hale and Westminster to Leeds, Wellingborough and Cardiff.

Heritage
Milestone 01 / 08

Our history.

Seven decades of British housebuilding lineage, through Bullock Construction, United House and United Living to BREE Construction today.

A working method honed across hundreds of schemes, measured, numerate, specific to client and place. Today: build-to-rent, multi-family, affordable, specialist living, student-accommodation and land-led, with A1 NHBC and Premier Guarantee.

Mid-century
1955

D T Bullock & Co incorporated

A family-run housebuilder is set up in the North West post-war, as Britain embarks on its largest civilian housing programme since the Victorian era. Incorporated as a private limited company, the legal entity that, seventy years and four name changes later, will become BREE Construction. The first decades focus on regional housing and care work for councils and registered providers across Lancashire, Cheshire and Yorkshire, laying down a measured, numerate delivery method that still holds today.

Recognition

Quietly recognised.

Awards aren’t the work, but they are a measure of the discipline behind it. Daventry House in Westminster carries the most, with seven recognitions across seven awarding bodies.

Daventry House (Lisson Arches), Westminster: corner view looking up at the pale-cream brick older-persons block, set-back balconies with timber-screened rails, deep window reveals, ground-floor brick masonry switching to a darker grey-brown band, all against a clear blue sky, Westminster City Council scheme.
