Affordable homes for Murton
At land east of Seaview Walk in Murton, County Durham, BREE Construction, then trading as Partner Construction, was appointed to deliver forty-nine affordable homes for Karbon Homes, part of an 11.5 million pound development investment in the village.
The project secured planning approval from Durham County Council under application DM/21/03672/FPA, and was welcomed as a green light for new affordable housing in Murton. It added quality homes to a former pit village in the east of the county.

Homes for Karbon
The development provided forty-nine affordable homes for Karbon Homes, one of the North East's larger housing associations. The homes formed part of a wider Karbon programme in the area, with planning support reflecting a substantial investment in new housing across the village.
Set on land to the east of Seaview Walk, the scheme was planned to integrate with the existing community in Murton, near Seaham. Completed homes from the development have since appeared on the local market, confirming the neighbourhood as settled and occupied.
The Murton homes complemented Karbon's wider development activity, with the association continuing to invest in new affordable housing across the North East. Around one hundred and four new Karbon homes featured in the planning work supporting delivery in the area.

Delivery in County Durham
BREE Construction delivered the Murton homes between 2023 and 2024, taking the scheme from planning approval through to completion. Planning consultants supported Karbon's proposals, and the development was reported through the regional business press as a significant affordable housing investment for east County Durham.
The completed scheme strengthened the supply of affordable homes in Murton and reflected the continuing relationship between BREE Construction and housing associations delivering new homes across the North East.
