Timber-frame homes for West Bromwich
Between 2012 and 2014, BREE Construction, then operating as Bullock Construction, delivered 38 timber-framed homes at Beaconview Road in West Bromwich for Accord Housing. The 5 million pound development was built on the site of former council-owned maisonettes, replacing dated stock with modern, energy-efficient family homes.
The scheme used timber-frame construction, an approach Accord favoured for its speed and efficiency, with homes raised quickly from prefabricated components. Marketed under the Beacon View name, the development offered part-buy, part-rent shared ownership, opening a route to affordable homeownership in Sandwell.
An early West Bromwich development
Beaconview Road was among the West Midlands projects Bullock was delivering with the West Bromwich-based Accord Housing during this period, reflecting a close working relationship between contractor and client. The scheme formed part of Accord's wider programme of affordable housing across the region.
The development fell within the era that preceded the merger creating BREE Construction, which brought together Bullock Construction of Walsall and United House of Swanley in 2014. As a timber-frame, part-buy part-rent scheme on a regenerated maisonette site in Sandwell, Beaconview Road typified the legacy Bullock and Accord affordable delivery that characterised the contractor's West Midlands work at the time.
