Affordable housing in Stonebroom
At Carlyle Road in Stonebroom, Derbyshire, thirty new affordable homes were built as part of the wider regeneration of the village. BREE Construction, then operating as Partner Construction, delivered the 2.5 million pound scheme for Futures Housing Group and Rykneld Homes, bringing modern affordable homes to a former mining community in North East Derbyshire.
The development sat within a broader programme of community regeneration in Stonebroom, which also involved improvements to local facilities. The new homes added affordable accommodation to the village and supported the area's renewal.
Homes and value
The scheme provided thirty homes, twenty-four for affordable rent and six for sale through Help to Buy, managed by Rykneld Homes on behalf of the local authority and Futures Housing Group. At a construction value of around 2.5 million pounds, the development represented a focused investment in affordable housing for households in the Alfreton and North East Derbyshire area.
Completed in 2017, the homes at Carlyle Road were designed to fit the residential character of Stonebroom and to provide comfortable, energy-efficient accommodation for local tenants.
A community-led approach
Stonebroom's regeneration brought together housing providers and the local community in a village with strong roots in the area's mining heritage. Partner Construction's delivery of the Carlyle Road homes formed one part of that wider effort.
Carlyle Road in Stonebroom, in the Alfreton DE55 postcode area, retains a residential character, and the thirty affordable homes added through the scheme sit comfortably within it, providing secure accommodation for households in the village.
